'The Roman Hut' is small (55sq.m floor area), timber framed, 2 storey strawbale cottage. The Christie Walk project contains 3 other strawbale cottages of 90 sq.m. and 120sq.m., but this was the first to be built and occupied - by radical environmentalist Roman Orszanski.

No PVC or formaldehyde are used in this 'purist' ecohouse. Constructed with workshopping, volunteers and skilled tradespeople, the Hut has provided Chrisies Walkers with a testbed for community based construction and development processes.
